JR

J.R. was BADLY injured protecting his family from a burglar. He was brought to a Vet and gained back the use of his front legs ONLY.  His owners decided they didn’t want him anymore and asked for him to be put down. The Vet, not wanting to do this, had them relinquish ownership and turned to VFTA for help.

Read J.R.'s full story.

J.R. was being boarded at Dr. Michaels while Voice For The Animals completed our assessment so that we knew everything about his condition before we began to look for a foster home or a permanent family.Just last week we had completed our assessment and were ready to start advertising J.R.. We placed ads in two papers asking people to come to our Sunday adoptions and meet J.R.. We repeatedly emailed Dr. Michaels informing him that we would be taking J.R. to our adoptions, but he did not respond. On Friday April 11th, Dr. Michaels emailed us that he had made the decision to kill J.R.!

In J.R.'s Memory

Thank you to all who have helped support J.R. We will be pursuing filing both criminal and civil charges against Dr.Michaels. We are devastated, heart broken and furious. No vet must get away with killing any animal without first getting the permission of the legal guardian. We are asking all of our animal loving friends to please call Dr. Michaels or email him and tell him how you feel about what he has done.
